All applicants were asked to design four-to-eight outfits for Levi’s® Made & Crafted® Fall/Winter 2018 line as well as a visual identity for the brand. Levi’s® Made & Crafted® is a specially designed line focused on the quality of every detail. Every button, zipper and finishing seam is attended to as closely as the fabrics.

“When we set out on our first competition with Arts Thread last year, our aim was to connect with the best design talent wherever that may be. And these candidates have exceeded our expectations,” said Jonathan Cheung, Levi’s® Senior Vice President of Design. “For those of you who entered but didn’t make the 20, I’d like to thank you on behalf of the Levi’s Design Team for putting in the time, your talent and your heart. You made it really tough for us to select 20!”

Of these 20 shortlisted, eight will be selected for an interview with the Levi’s Design team and two will be chosen to take part in a 10-week internship here at Levi Strauss & Co.’s San Francisco headquarters in Summer 2017. They will have the opportunity to work with Jonathan and his team of designers, take advantage of the Levi Strauss & Co. Archives, and do some work at the Eureka Innovation Lab with Bart Sights, Vice President of Technical Innovation for LS&Co.

“We’re looking forward to speaking to the eight finalists and welcoming two special people to spend the summer with us,” Jonathan said.
