Levi’s® and BEAMS, the beloved Japanese clothing company and retailer, have partnered for the fourth time on a special capsule collection called the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 collection.
The collection builds on previous releases and features items that pair well together for a head-to-toe look. The capsule includes a Super Wide V2 Type 1 Trucker jacket, a Super Wide V2 jean and a graphic tee. Each piece pays tribute to Levi’s® heritage, featuring new bold and widened pieces derived from classic styles and washes and drawing inspiration from subtle, simple and elegant garments from 1944.
The Super Wide V2 Type 1 Trucker jacket was inspired by the 1944 Levi’s® jean jacket made from heavy 16-ounce custom Orange Tick selvedge denim. It features just four shanks, a custom super wide leather back patch and a BEAMS exclusive tab.
The Super Wide V2 jean is inspired by the 1944 501® jean and is also made from Orange Tick selvedge denim, developed exclusively for BEAMS. The Trucker and jean are offered in a lighter vintage wash and a darker rinse wash — the darker rinse is exclusive to BEAMS.
The collection features a white T-shirt with co-branded graphics and a screen printed “stitched” arcuate on the back.
A limited pre-sale of the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 collection will take place at BEAMS JAPAN (SHINJUKU), BEAMS JAPAN SHIBUYA and BEAMS JAPAN KYOTO beginning January 2. The collection officially launches globally on January 9 and will be available to purchase on levi.com, beams.co.jp, the Levi’s® app and in select Levi’s® and BEAMS stores.
