The frigid waters of the San Francisco Bay are home to a wide array of interesting wildlife creatures — they were joined by many friendly faces recently at the 2nd annual Baykeeper Bay Parade. Participants swam, rowed and kayaked from the Ferry Building to AT&T Park to help raise awareness of the importance of protecting the Bay from pollutants.

“Our annual parade is the Bay Area’s most unique celebration on the water,” said Sejal Choksi-Chugh, Baykeeper’s Interim Executive Director. “It’s a celebration of the Bay — on the Bay — for the Bay.”

As a leader in the industry for water conservation, Levi Strauss & Co. supports San Francisco Baykeeper’s efforts and its important mission to protect and enhance the water quality of the San Francisco Bay.  We supported the cause by sponsoring this year’s parade, and were happy to have three of our retail teams out on the bay volunteering to help make the event a success.

“San Francisco Baykeeper is the sole on-the-water nonprofit dedicated to protecting San Francisco Bay from pollution. We are truly excited to bring this event to our community to help everyone be a part of the solution to keeping our treasure of the Bay safe to recreate in for generations to come,” Choksi-Chugh said.

Over the next 25 years, Baykeeper aims to make the Bay the healthiest estuary in the country. We salute San Francisco Baykeeper for your noble work to keep our Bay healthy and beautiful!
