How to Source Innovative Ideas

Composer John Cage once said, “I can’t understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I’m frightened of the old ones.” The need to find creative sources of new ideas is central to a new LinkedIn op-ed by Seth Ellison, president of the Europe region for Levi Strauss & Co. In this role, Seth is responsible for maximizing opportunities and results for the Levi’s® and Dockers® brands in Europe.

While the latest chapter of Seth’s career has brought him to Brussels, Belgium, he actually got his start in surf apparel in Southern California. In the three decades since then, he’s learned some important lessons about how to tap into employees across all levels, experiences, backgrounds and locations to crowdsource ideas to improve a business.
