Uuuuribe! A Homer for the Home Team – and the Junior Giants!

We sell our products all over the world – including Texas. We even have a technology center in Westlake, not all that far from Arlington, home of one of the 2010 World Series teams, the Texas Rangers.

But we’re a San Francisco-based team, founded here 157 years ago. This is our hometown. So we hope you’ll forgive us for playing favorites when it comes to the other World Series team this year.

Go Giants!

Bullying: There’s More To Do.

It’s safe to say the bullying hasn’t stopped. But we’d like to think the recent focus on the problem is having an impact. Of course, it’s a shame that it comes only after the recent, tragic suicides of at least five young people – bullied because they were either gay or perceived “different” in some way.

Full Frontal. Graphic, Too.

Cool is subjective - in my opinion a cool T is based on brand relevance, it depends on where it comes from and where it’s going. A bad T is a design that exploits current predictable pop culture art / design trends. I think a brand should represent its own original vision.

Save It, Kids.

When’s the last time you heard a teenager talk about his small business and the people he employed. Perhaps…never?

It happened to me just recently. In fact, I listened to two teenagers talk about the difference savings and financial education had made in their lives.

One spoke of his lawn care business and his five employees. He wrote the business plan, saved for the expenses and still managed to pay for college. The other, a high school student from Connecticut, saved for three CDs – as in Certificates of Deposit.

Shape What's to Come

I don’t know about you, but I think that being a woman, or a girl or a chick or whatever you prefer to call yourself – is pretty awesome.

That’s not to say life isn’t full of challenges, but women in their twenties or “Millennials,” as the researchers like to call them, literally and figuratively have the world at their fingertips.

A Little Help

Sam and Mary have lived in Braddock, Penn., for years. Right now, they live with Princess, their dachshund, in the same house that Mary’s grandmother called home decades ago.

Sam and Mary are now both in their mid-60s. Sam works from 6 p.m. to midnight most nights. And without his help, Mary has a hard time getting around, especially moving up and down the stairs in their house to let Princess out to do her business.

Without a fenced-in yard, Princess can’t go outside unless Sam is there to watch her.

Sam and Mary needed a little help.

Bullying. Bad – No Matter What.

What was it – five teens committing suicide in the past few weeks as a result of bullying? And those were just the ones that we heard about.

These tragedies occurred because the bullies believed their targets – the victims – to be gay. But no matter what you think about a person’s sexual orientation, you have to agree that bullying is bad.
