Ever since Levi Strauss & Co. was founded in San Francisco back in 1873, this city has been at the heart of our story. When we broke ground on Levi’s® Plaza in 1979, we set down roots that have supported our growth for nearly half a century. Now, we’ve completed a significant redesign of our headquarters, blending the rich heritage of our brand with a fresh, modern vibe to better serve our fans and employees.

The Levi’s® Plaza Store

Today, we officially reopened the doors to our Levi’s® store at 1155 Battery Street. This new location gives fans another place to shop in our hometown and reflects our ongoing mission to become a best-in-class DTC-first retailer with standout denim-lifestyle collections for everyone. Having a store right at our headquarters is a daily reminder of how we’re bringing our vision to life.

“Our stores showcase the best of Levi’s® and create memorable brand experiences that turn shoppers into lifelong fans,” said Heidi Manes, SVP and Managing Director, U.S. & Canada. “Our stylists are experts in denim lifestyle—outfitting our fans in head-to-toe looks that reflect their individuality, inspire confidence, and help our fans feel their best.”

The Plaza store is a fresh take on our Indigo concept. Every detail — from the bronze accents inspired by our iconic rivets to the deep blue hues representing our famous indigo denim — invites you to explore our full head-to-toe denim lifestyle. Whether you’re after classic fits or the latest styles, it’s all here. Plus, the store is designed to offer exceptional, personalized service as part of our DTC-first approach.

The Vault – Our LS&Co. Museum

After 172 years in business, we have a lot of stories to share. The Vault, our company museum, has been closed since the pandemic, but we’re excited to welcome visitors back to a new and expanded space when it reopens in early November.

“I take great pride in preserving and capturing Levi Strauss & Co.’s longstanding history,” said LS&Co. Historian Tracey Panek. “The Vault’s reopening is a special moment — it’s not just about safeguarding our past but about bringing these iconic stories to life and sharing them with the world in a space that is just as special as the pieces being showcased.”

The Vault’s reopening will kick off with a limited-run exhibit celebrating the Levi’s® brand’s influence in music with garments from artists like Kurt Cobain to Beyoncé. Make sure to check it out in November before the next exhibit arrives in February. Admission is free.

The Atrium

Walking through Levi’s® Plaza, you’ll get a glimpse of our newly renovated Atrium in the headquarters, which is open only to employees. The vibrant, modern space was designed in collaboration with global architecture and design firm Gensler to celebrate our company’s history and bring the brand to life while also serving as a hub for collaboration and connection.

“The Atrium used to be a path employees would travel through; today, it’s a destination employees want to spend time in,” said Sean Sullivan, Senior Director of Corporate Real Estate and Facilities at Levi Strauss & Co. “It’s a welcoming space that brings people together and fosters conversation, while providing employees with flexible workspaces to serve their needs. Sitting in the revamped Atrium, you get a sense of what LS&Co. is all about — originality.”

The Atrium serves as the social and cultural heart of our workplace. Bathed in natural light and surrounded by thoughtful touches that nod to our heritage and brand, this open space features a café and coffee shop exclusively for LS&Co. employees. Whether it’s a place for collaboration, a quiet spot to recharge or a venue for hosting events and gatherings, the Atrium reflects LS&Co.’s commitment to connection and innovation.

We can’t wait to welcome you at the Levi’s headquarters — and to keep building what’s next for Levi’s® in our hometown.
