Levi’s® continues its quest to redesign and reimagine the shopping experience with plans for a new flagship store to be launched in New York City’s Times Square in late 2018.
Hot on the heels of last week’s grand opening of the revamped SoHo store, the Times Square location will be among the largest in the store fleet at approximately 17,000 square feet. Expect this new store to deliver a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.
“This new flagship store is a testament to the strength and relevance of the Levi’s® brand,” said Carrie Ask, executive vice president and president of global retail at LS&Co. “Located in the heart of Times Square, this store will be the ultimate shopping destination for consumers from around the world who are seeking authenticity, customization, and personalized fit and style expertise.”
The store design will be informed by extensive consumer research conducted by LS&Co. to better understand what consumers really want out of their shopping experience. LS&Co. has incorporated consumer insights into changes like fitting room upgrades and staff equipped with mobile POS units so consumers can check out on the go, as well as features like Tailor Shops, where consumers can tailor and personalize their purchases.
The investment in a new, larger-format store in Times Square reinforces the company’s confidence in its direct-to-consumer business, which now represents nearly one-third of LS&Co.’s total global business. Retail spaces owned and operated by the company are a key component of this strategy, and an important and profitable growth driver.
“For us, it’s about meeting consumers where and how they want to shop,” said Ask. “With this store, we are focused on bringing the flexibility and ease of omni-channel to the in-store environment, while also giving the consumer a unique and highly personalized experience that they can’t get anywhere else.”
