Pride and Joy

Levi Strauss & Co. employees, family and friends march along with the Levi’s float at the S.F. Pride parade.

It couldn’t have been a more perfect marriage. On Sunday, June 28, two days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality, San Francisco and many other cities around the world hosted parades and events in celebration of the final weekend of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride month.

In San Francisco, close to 300 Levi Strauss & Co. employees, family and friends turned out (donning their Levi’s® Pride tees) to march along with the Levi’s® float.

Here’s what employees had to say about the day:

“Levi Strauss has always been a company that has stood for what’s right, even when it seemed like everyone else disagreed, and has been a company that encourages us to be who we are. Walking in this year’s Pride parade brought together the confirmation that it’s ok to be gay, fall in love, get married and have a family. Levi Strauss is a company that makes me feel confident that they will always have my back and be a part of that family.”
Sergio Lopez, Levi’s® Plaza store manager

“I can just picture myself in 50 years saying: ‘When the Supreme Court ruled gay marriage legal in all 50 states, I was walking alongside my LS&Co. family in the heart of San Francisco celebrating.’ I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else!”
Kate Hughes, retail communications specialist

It was a proud moment indeed, here are a few highlights:
