Giving back is as much a part of our heritage as the blue jean. Since our inception, Levi Strauss & Co. has led with purpose, dating back to 1854, when our founder, Levi Strauss, donated some of his first profits to a local charity that we still support today.
We use our values –empathy, originality, integrity and courage – to guide our actions. We take bold stands on issues that impact our communities — speaking out in favor of equal rights and protections for the most marginalized, and advocating on behalf of the planet. And we strive to build a culture where employees feel empowered to use their voice to advocate for change.
From walking in support of equality at Women’s Marches around the world, to helping most in need after natural disasters, to finding ways to save water in our finishing process, we are inspired by employees who make purpose a part of their role at Levi Strauss & Co. – taking responsibility and action to improve their communities.
As we gear up for Community Day next week – our annual day of service where employees around the globe go into their communities to volunteer – we are keeping the urgency of our community needs front and center, supporting those organizations that provide direct services to people most in need.
We know what we do as a company matters. And together, we have the power to champion what we believe in when it comes to equality, advancing social justice and contributing to a thriving future for our planet.
The time is now.
