I've always believed that businesses not only have the ability to change the world -- they have a duty to do so.It's this belief that has led me through my career. And to Levi's. To change things.Let me give you an example.Last year, we announced the Levi’s® Water<Less™ collection – denim finished in a way that uses significantly less water. Up to 96 percent less for some products.

Steve Jobs stood on the frontier for 56 years. He was a master innovator who changed computing, music and telecommunications. He showed us that anything is possible and, in doing so, made the world a better place. Many words will be written in the hours and days ahead about Steve Jobs. And with good reason. He inspired so many people in so many ways that we can only marvel at his artistry and intuition. We thank him for showing us the way and for challenging the world to stay hungry and stay foolish.

One of the most recognizable trademarks in the world has just turned 75. And we’re proud to say, it’s ours. That trademark is officially known as the “Tab Device.” You might just call it “the red Tab” when you see it on someone’s, um, back pocket. To vintage clothing collectors, graphic artists, designers and advertising executives, the Tab Device is an icon, and it’s sometimes hard to believe it hasn’t been a part of Levi’s® jeans since the beginning.

There are few things in life better than a good story – whether on the printed page, in a movie or told by a friend. And in most cases, the phrase, “don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story,” makes me smile. But when a story runs roughshod over the truth and hurts something I care about, I’ll be the first to speak up. That’s what’s happening now, in some circles – and the target is the Levi’s® brand, which I lead.

Russia – part of the former Soviet Union – is a fairly new market for Levi’s® jeans, but the company and the brand actually visited that country more than fifty years ago.

Let’s face it. There are people who like bicycles. And there are people who love them. The folks at Oregon Manifest fall into the latter category. They live, breathe, eat, and otherwise support bicycling. In fact, they say their organization exists to “celebrate and amplify bike craft, design and innovation.”I’d say that’s true love.

Six years ago, Maria and Luis de la Luz Vazquez had a vision of serving up Mexican food that went beyond the typical fare of tacos and quesadillas. That’s when they began sharing their traditional Mayan cuisine with the world. They began pursuing their dream by cooking out of their own kitchen and selling their specialties out of their home and outside subway stations. They named their company Chaac-Mool, after the Mayan god of rain.
