Have you ever had the experience of going to a foreign country and once you hit the streets you suddenly felt absolutely at home? That was my experience on a recent trip to Australia.I've just returned from Down Under. My traveling partners? Four pairs of vintage Levi’s® jeans: the XX, the 501® jean from 1879, also called The World’s Oldest Pair of Jeans; the Nevada, found in a dusty mining town; Lady Levi’s® jeans worn at an Arizona dude ranch in the 1930s; and a fun pair of girl’s striped flares from 1969.

Brace yourself for the winter, New York. It’s sunny and 75.Instead of wool coats and frozen breath, New Yorkers got a blast of springtime cheer from the Levi’s® brand at the recent Spring 2012 press preview. There, next season’s key looks came to life through a vibrant tableau vivant. Using the theme of a romantic spring night, the talented Levi’s® creative team curated pieces from the men’s and women’s collection to form vignette experiences evoking a day at the park, a row-boat on a lake and a bike ride on the street.

One of the best parts of my work is interacting with amazingly creative people – at Levi’s® and beyond. In the “beyond” category, Stefan Sagmeister is up at the top. The Austrian-born artist is one of the most original graphic designers of his generation. And over the past several years, we’ve been lucky enough to work with Stefan on several projects.

If you use clothing to display your personal attitude and individuality, Levi’s® has just provided a blank, black canvas. That’s the idea behind Levi’s® Monochrome Capsule collection, which focuses on clean simple styles and a dark color palette that includes Black Point, Slam Grey and Petrol Blue. The monochromatic theme is carried out with tone-on-tone stitching, and the zipper, leather patch and metal buttons are all black.

Levi’s® jeans have long been part of the standard uniform at college campuses around the world. Now, there’s even more of a reason for college women to pull on a pair of Levi’s jeans – Levi’s® Curve ID, with a fit based on shape, not size. And the Levi’s® team is currently taking that message to college campuses across the United States – bringing with them the “Mirror, Mirror … What’s My Curve ID?” studio.
