The Biker, Oil and Leather
Levi’s® Vintage Clothing digs deep into the Levi’s® archives to capture and reproduce iconic garments from bygone eras. For Fall 2012, they're paying tribute to the rebellious spirit and renegade style of the American biker.The era? Think early 1950s, when the term "biker" became associated with a two-wheeled lifestyle. The fashion? White t-shirt, black leather jacket and the 501® jean.As part of its tribute, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing invited artists and illustrators from around the world to customize black leather motorcycle jackets from its seasonal collection.

Commuter's a Global Winner
The 2012 Global Fashion Awards are intended to recognize and reward brilliance in fashion and retail design across the globe. The awards are staged by fashion forecaster WGSN.A new award category this year is the Denim Design Team, and WGSN's description laid out the challenge for the competitors very well:

It’s called EKOCYCLE™.

I tend to look forward . . . I like to envision what my world might look like in the year 2020 . . . And then I work backwards! Back to what actions I could take today & tomorrow to move towards 2020. Simply put, I tend to go forth.
In a world that is sometimes confusing and seemingly harder to understand, why waste time trying to predict the future . . . Let's get busy creating it. That's how true pioneers tend to think . . . That's how Levi Strauss thought back in 1873.

Vintage Reinvented
As the saying goes, what’s old is new again. And it couldn’t be more true for the Levi’s® design team.We’d been spotting vintage Levi’s® pieces showing up left and right in the market and noticed collegiate/varsity inspired jackets and destruction on the fashion runways.
