Vintage Reinvented
As the saying goes, what’s old is new again. And it couldn’t be more true for the Levi’s® design team.We’d been spotting vintage Levi’s® pieces showing up left and right in the market and noticed collegiate/varsity inspired jackets and destruction on the fashion runways.

It's a Gas, Gas, Gas.
American women won the right to vote in 1920, after nearly seventy-five years of struggle. But in the 1920s, it was still considered a novelty for women to drive automobiles. So when sisters Grace and Ester Robinson were hired by Liberty magazine in 1928 to drive a car – by themselves - from New York to California, it was considered a very big deal.

One look inside and you’ll realize you don’t need to speak Dutch to understand that Bijenkorf means top-notch shopping. What you may not know is that it is the biggest (and finest) Amsterdam department store. It’s not just shopping – it’s an artfully curated experience. Been There.
One of the facts we tout here at Levi Strauss & Co. is the fact that our products are sold in more than 110 countries around the world. We think that’s significant.But it’s also worth noting that doing business outside the United States is nothing new for this company. In fact, we have been operating beyond the U.S. borders for at least 150 years.

Inspired
It’s always interesting to me to see what inspires fashion designers. Is it a trip to the desert, a mountain trek, or maybe a walk through a forest?For the Fall 2012 collection, the Levi’s® brand took to the coast. The collection, they say, was built on – and inspired by – the ocean, coastal communities and their associated handcrafted traditions.The collection is available now, online and in stores. Olympic-Sized Memories
Here’s one thing you may not have thought about while watching the 2012 London Olympics: The range of participants’ clothing sizes.I speak from experience when I tell you that it runs from XXXS to XXXXL.Levi Strauss & Co. was the official outfitter of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. And I was lucky enough to get to work there. That’s right – I was paid to work the Olympics! It was an amazing privilege.

Peddling the Commuter in Japan
