One of the facts we tout here at Levi Strauss & Co. is the fact that our products are sold in more than 110 countries around the world. We think that’s significant.But it’s also worth noting that doing business outside the United States is nothing new for this company. In fact, we have been operating beyond the U.S. borders for at least 150 years.

Olympic-Sized Memories

Here’s one thing you may not have thought about while watching the 2012 London Olympics: The range of participants’ clothing sizes.I speak from experience when I tell you that it runs from XXXS to XXXXL.Levi Strauss & Co. was the official outfitter of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. And I was lucky enough to get to work there. That’s right – I was paid to work the Olympics! It was an amazing privilege.

Carrying the Baton -- For Progress

Progress. In a word, that’s what this year’s International AIDS Conference is all about.This year, for the first time, scientists can see the real possibility of the end of HIV/AIDS in our lifetime.Progress is also the reason why the conference is being held in the United States, after more than two decades of being held oversees. You see, until recently the U.S. did not allow travelers with HIV to enter into the country, under a ban imposed in 1987. The U.S. government lifted the ban in 2010.Now, it’s our turn to carry the baton of progress.
