Like others across the United States, we at Levi Strauss & Co. know when to step outside for a once-in-a-lifetime event.Space shuttle Endeavour flew over our hometown of San Francisco this morning, as it wrapped up its cross-country tour, on its way to Los Angeles. The shuttle hitched a ride on a Boeing 747, and its Bay Area visit was one of many California flyovers today.Despite the mid-morning haze, the scene from our balconies at Levi’s® Plaza, as Endeavour passed over San Francisco Bay, was more than a little impressive.

Time was, you could count on the town you live in to make sure the parks in your neighborhood were in good shape. But in many cities around the world, including our hometown of San Francisco, budgets aren’t what they once were. And it takes some unique partnerships to keep parks what they should be – safe for kids and families, clean, and fun. We’re proud to be helping out. Working with The Trust for Public Land and some San Francisco companies, the Levi Strauss Foundation is helping fund a parks-improvement initiative for three local parks.

One look inside and you’ll realize you don’t need to speak Dutch to understand that Bijenkorf means top-notch shopping. What you may not know is that it is the biggest (and finest) Amsterdam department store. It’s not just shopping – it’s an artfully curated experience. Beyond fine fashion, there’s dining, an art gallery and even a hair salon!
