Music-Making Moves

This is pretty cool. Japanese electronic engineer and DJ Daito Manabe has found a way to turn body movement into music. To do this, Daito uses electronic sensors and music software that he programmed himself. In this video, he and his friends manipulate and create music simply by moving their bodies and dancing. The music results from each dancer's style and movement, making it unique. The clothes are from the Denizen™ brand, which worked with Daito in Japan to create this video.

Handmade Hope in Guatemala...and at Levi's®

The people – that’s what inspired me most when I first lived in Guatemala as a college student. The strength, determination, and spirit of Guatemala’s indigenous people, despite the unspeakable hardships they had endured and the battles they are still fighting today: poverty, discrimination, illiteracy, and malnutrition. The indigenous people of Guatemala completely captured my heart. I felt an obligation to partner with them and to be part of a solution: to connect them to the resources and markets they needed to build a better future.

Dressing Smart – On the Job and on the Town.

My love for fashion and design started at a young age when my mom taught me how to sew. Growing up, and even throughout college while I studied neuroscience, I knew I needed an outlet to express my creativity. At the time, I didn’t have a TV, so the sewing machine and stereo became the faithful companions to my design and clothes-making. I created my own tube tops and stretch cropped pants using fabric from the store across the street, and even once made a cocktail dress out of cocktail napkins!
