The Biker, Oil and Leather
Levi’s® Vintage Clothing digs deep into the Levi’s® archives to capture and reproduce iconic garments from bygone eras. For Fall 2012, they're paying tribute to the rebellious spirit and renegade style of the American biker.The era? Think early 1950s, when the term "biker" became associated with a two-wheeled lifestyle. The fashion? White t-shirt, black leather jacket and the 501® jean.As part of its tribute, Levi’s® Vintage Clothing invited artists and illustrators from around the world to customize black leather motorcycle jackets from its seasonal collection.

#SpotTheShuttle
Like others across the United States, we at Levi Strauss & Co. know when to step outside for a once-in-a-lifetime event.Space shuttle Endeavour flew over our hometown of San Francisco this morning, as it wrapped up its cross-country tour, on its way to Los Angeles. The shuttle hitched a ride on a Boeing 747, and its Bay Area visit was one of many California flyovers today.Despite the mid-morning haze, the scene from our balconies at Levi’s® Plaza, as Endeavour passed over San Francisco Bay, was more than a little impressive.

Olympic-Sized Memories
Here’s one thing you may not have thought about while watching the 2012 London Olympics: The range of participants’ clothing sizes.I speak from experience when I tell you that it runs from XXXS to XXXXL.Levi Strauss & Co. was the official outfitter of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. And I was lucky enough to get to work there. That’s right – I was paid to work the Olympics! It was an amazing privilege.

Peddling the Commuter in Japan

My last look at Levi's® was in elementary school. And I still own the classic pair perloined from my father's Lower East Side men's clothing store, long before the neighborhood attracted European tourists paying top Euro to stay in trendy boutique hotels and shop BoHo chic.

It's a Pitti
Of the 1,100 exhibitors descending upon Florence earlier this month to show their apparel, it’s a safe bet that only Dockers® brought a bear.In this case, the bear was Bear Grylls. He wasn’t actually at Pitti Uomo in person, but the trade fair provided the perfect opportunity for us to introduce Bear as the face of the current Dockers® global marketing campaign.
