Description:
Purpose:
Provides expertise in consumer, customer and competitor intelligence per market. Briefs market-specific requirements. Selects local lines from the global line and develops local assortments appealing to each market in LATAM countries (Northern Hermisphere and Southern Hemisphere). Contributes to global alignment and implementation of Brand Strategies for local markets,includingProduct Approval Process for Argentina & Venezuela/Colombia markets.
Analyzes and interprets selling/consumer data:
- Looks back at sales performance and market data and creates actionable insights that inform the brief.

- Interprets and applies consumer, customer and competitor intelligence in the brief creation.

- Understands local market to provide targeted consulting and to obtain additional competitive and consumer intelligence in order to better understand and react to the local marketplace.
Builds assortment plan – volume and profit targets:
- Creates the category brief with market-specific requirements. Provides the competitive analysis, performance data, marketplace trends and seasonal requirements to inform the regional/global line architecture

- Responsible of deliver growth to the category and brand: MGP, Net Revenue & EBIT for Distributors (central America); and Royalties for Licensed Business Partners.

- Builds seasonal consumer directive assortments (Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere), suggested pricing strategies, product line volume and profit guidance, margin targets, growth opportunities, and transition plans (from exclusive invents to global line).
Briefs Hub Merchants on assortment requirements
- Influences global/regional on market needs based on briefs.
Builds and monitors local assortment:
- Builds local assortment off global lines that meet consumer and customer needs to drive profitability. Evaluates what is working effectively or not and adapts with the necessary changes. Fosters intra-regional learning and innovation.
- Ensures product alignment to Global Line. And implement Product Approval Process for Argentina and Venezuela/Colombia Markets due to government restrictions to import.
- Works with Com Ops., finance and customer (s) to help ensure regional financial targets are achieved.
- Works with accounts to understand productivity of product and ongoing needs
- Uploads monthly business forecast. Consults Supply Planning as necessary to resolve potential order and delivery issues.
- Monitors sell-in and sell-thru and provides timely updates and analysis.
- Inventory, open to buy and forecasting responsibilities
Drives cross functional accountability:
- Collaborates with cross-functional partners to execute the brand vision with customer/accounts on floor.
Requirements:
Education: University/College degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing or other related fields.
Experience:
- 4 - 6 years of Merchandising or Buying experience, with a proven ability to deliver commercially viable product lines that fuel brand health and profitable growth.
- Ability to read and anticipate market trends and incorporate these into leading product lines that meet sales and profitability targets.
- Business/Financial acumen.
- Thorough understanding of apparel merchandising and LATAM retailing.
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of garment construction, fit and fabric.
- Understanding of domestic and off-shore sourcing.
- Understanding of product/brand positioning (pricing, advertising, promotions, packaging/product presentation)
- Good influencing, problem solving and negotiating skills.
- Effective interpersonal/leadership skills to develop productive relationships and achieve results with otherfunctions and with Global partners.
- Superior organizing, priority setting and time management skills.
- Marshals resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; orchestrates multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses time and resources effectively and efficiently.
- Credible, clear communicator and presenter of his/her product plans to various levels of the organization and to external contacts.
- Questions status quo in order to improve product line presentation and processes.
