Description:

  • Drive significant financial growth in productivity ($PSF) and profitability of retail network (O&O and franchise, first quality and outlet) and enhance brand equity of LS&CO. brands through effective management and execution of retail strategy and strong leadership of overall Canadian retail business.
  • Drive profitable strategic expansion of retail in Canada (O&O and outlets);
  • Drive improvements in retail performance ($PSF, level 1 EBIT, units/revenues, etc.) across Canada and O&O/Franchise network;
  • Lead identification of merchandising/assortment needs for Canadian market;
  • Lead and manage overall retail team to exceed financial targets;
  • Motivate/inspire team through continuous coaching, performance development and career planning;
  • Manage ‘win-win’ partnerships with franchisees, outside vendors, business partners across region/functions, etc.;

Leadership/Communication:

  • Execute LSA retail strategy in Canada: achieve financial objectives within the retail and outlet stores;
  • Responsible for leading the analysis and decision, by door, of O&O or franchised (linked to total regional strategy);
  • Drive location strategy for mainline/outlet retail for Canada ;
  • Hire, lead and manage overall retail team (approx 5-6 people) to exceed financial/strategic targets;
  • Partner/communicate/manage effectively internal (cross-functional – IT, merchandising, planning, ops, pan-regional) and external partners (franchises, 3rd party vendors, etc.);
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to building platform (e.g., IT/infrastructure) for O&O retail model;
  • Motivate/inspire team through continuous coaching, performance development and career planning;
  • Develop/execute any regional/global communication needs (e.g., global retail forum presentation, QBR);
  • Lead execution of Retail 6Ps;
  • Brief US retail team on Canadian market needs;
  • Accountable for leading/managing annual (AFP) and strategic (SBP) planning process for Canadian retail;
  • Influence both US and Canadian team and serve as the integration point person for Canada.

Product/Merchandising/Planning/ Allocation:

  • Collaborate closely with US team to ensure appropriate assortment developed, allocated and distributed to Canada stores;
  • Monitor trends, consumer needs/behavior to identify gaps in assortment needs and work closely with US team to fill gaps;
  • Collaborate with US team and support efforts in planning, distribution/allocation for Canada stores. Stores/Operations:
  • Work with franchise partner and district managers/US ops team to drive KPI improvements in store performance across retail network, including:
    • Frequent visits to stores,
    • Problem-solving with district managers/store managers on how to drive further improvements in performance,
    • Continuous review of KPI metrics and coaching/feedback,
    • Collaborate with US ops team to adopt/adapt tools and execute training of all store staff,
    • Work with HQ to resolve any bottle-necks at store (e.g., IT challenges, attrition, etc.);
  • Collaborate with HR and district managers to hire/manage O&O store staff.

Franchise/partner management:

  • Provide direction/leadership and oversight to franchisee partners to drive performance improvements in stores;
  • Lead contract negotiations with franchise partners and successfully manage partnership for growth and mutual profit;
  • Own all aspects of the internal and external vendor relationships and retail partners (franchises) including meeting facilitation, performance evaluation/ management, contract enforcement and real estate management.

Financials

  • Responsible for forecasting, P/L Management and weekly business performance management.

Requirements:

Education: Strongly prefer candidates to have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, MBA, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 7 years’ experience in apparel retail industry.

  • Bi-lingual fluency in French and English.
