Prince William – A Levi’s® Guy?

To hear him tell it, Prince William is a Levi’s guy.

But his new fiancée, Kate Middleton, says that wasn’t the prince’s picture on her wall at Scotland’s University of St. Andrews. It was the Levi’s® guy!

In a televised interview that came on the heels of news that he had proposed and Kate Middleton had accepted, the couple covered a number of topics: where he proposed, how her family responded and, of course, how many kids they’re planning, to mention a few.

The Mayor, The Governor & Green Jobs

California’s economic future is one of green jobs and clean energy.  That’s why the recent efforts to repeal or delay AB 32, California’s landmark and clean energy law, would have been an economic and environmental policy disaster.

Down Goes the Scooter

I was riding my scooter down Pearl Street in Boulder, Colo. when an SUV turned left in front of me. I had to lay the scooter down and slid for about 20-30 meters before stopping just before the car.

Pants Without Borders?

Say, you run a business that involves moving goods – clothes, perhaps – from one country to another. And say, the various countries your goods pass through impose tariffs that keep changing, making it difficult for you to keep track.

Are you paying too much? Too little?

And The Winner Is…Levi’s® London

In New York tonight, the fashion elite gathered at the Waldorf-Astoria to honor the best of the best of the year. The occasion? The 2010 WGSN Global Fashion Awards.

And we’re proud to say that Levi’s was not only one of the nominees, it was a winner!

The Levi’s brand London flagship was one of six retail apparel newcomers vying for the top title in the Outstanding New Store category. And it was up against some stiff competition.

Spring Forecast: Fresh, Wearable, On Trend

If you passed by 18 Wooster St. in New York last Thursday, you might have caught a glimpse of the future – as envisioned by the Levi’s® brand design team.

The brand took over the Levi’s® Photography Workshop for the night to host its spring 2011 press preview. On hand were invited editors, bloggers and stylists – 350 in all – to see first what’ll soon be seen in stores and, of course, on the streets around the world.

This wasn’t your father’s fashion preview.

New Jeans. Incredible Finishes. Less Water.

Here’s how it all started. A team of us – all designers – went to one of our laundries and told the folks there that we wanted to do the most incredible denim finishing we’d ever done – but we didn’t want to use water.

If you’re into blue jeans like I am, you know that’s a tall order.

I mean, anyone can create a jean using less water. But the challenge is using innovative techniques to create the finishes customers want…without using a lot of water.

We believe we’ve done both.

Giants 4, Rangers 1, Junior Giants $10,000

We weren’t really sure what to expect when we made the gesture: Levi Strauss & Co. would donate $1,000 to the Junior Giants for every home run hit by the San Francisco Giants in their 2010 World Series match-up with the Texas Rangers.

Now we do. Seven home runs, including one by Edgar Renteria in last night’s fifth and final game of the series, makes the total $7,000.

Will Young Women Vote? Survey says…

To hear the political pundits tell it, the youth vote tomorrow may fall well short of the turnout we saw in the 2008 Presidential Election. But a new poll by the Levi’s® brand suggests otherwise.

The poll was taken of so-called millennial women, ages 18-29, between Oct. 22 and 27. And here are some of the key findings:
