Next time you see the Grammy-winning rock duo The Black Keys perform, see if they’re wearing their customized Levi’s® Trucker jackets.

Like We Said...

The whole idea behind our Care Tag for Our Planet is to encourage consumers to reduce the environmental impact of caring for their jeans. Our message is wash your clothes less often, wash in cold water, line or air dry, and donate unneeded clothes.

A student at the Melbourne School of Design recently did some research on the whole "wash-less" approach. Turns out, it works just fine!

Check out what Masters candidate Tulia Jack discovered -- in this video by the University of Melbourne.

From Minneapolis to Ethiopia

Back in March, to mark World Water Day, the Levi’s® brand partnered with water.org to drive awareness about the world’s water crisis. The goal was to fund sustainable water programs and, in this case, provide some 200 million liters of water to communities in need of reliable water access.

On Facebook, the brand developed the Levi’s® WaterTank, which encouraged consumers to take simple steps in support of global water issues in a fun and competitive way.

Hardly Strictly a Financier

Levi Strauss & Co. and the San Francisco Bay Area have lost a true friend.

Warren Hellman died Sunday of leukemia.

Warren can best be described as one of a kind. He was a talented financier and passionate about business, bluegrass music, giving back to the community and endurance sports. His direct, self-deprecating demeanor made him equally at home with captains of industry, twenty-year-old hipsters, country music divas, and anyone who shared his enthusiasm for the banjo and marathon running.

Downey Down Under, With Denim

Have you ever had the experience of going to a foreign country and once you hit the streets you suddenly felt absolutely at home? That was my experience on a recent trip to Australia.

I've just returned from Down Under. My traveling partners? Four pairs of vintage Levi’s® jeans: the XX, the 501® jean from 1879, also called The World’s Oldest Pair of Jeans; the Nevada, found in a dusty mining town; Lady Levi’s® jeans worn at an Arizona dude ranch in the 1930s; and a fun pair of girl’s striped flares from 1969.
