Give Me Liberty!

Liberty of London is known for, among other things, its floral prints. Levi’s® is known for inventing -- and, then, innovating -- the blue jean. Put the two together and you have a collection that Glamour says could "rock your world."

Not bad, eh?

Greenest Office Building? Meet a Green Remodel.

About the only time a composting toilet ever crosses my mind is when I stumble upon one at, say, a national park.

So when I read about a new Seattle office building, the Bullitt Center, that features not only composting toilets, but also has all its water needs met solely by rainwater, it caught my attention.

The Groom Wore Blue (Jeans)

As a Levi’s® merchandise coordinator, it’s not often I get to help dress a wedding party, but that’s just what happened to me recently.

I was working at Macy’s Oak Court store in Memphis, Tenn., when groom Nick Seccombe and three of his groomsmen approached, looking for wedding wear. They weren’t passing through the Levi’s® section on their way to buy or rent tuxedos. Nick knew exactly what he wanted.

When Giving Back is Personal

We’ve come to expect companies to give back to their communities, especially during the winter holiday season. Levi Strauss & Co. is certainly not unique in that regard. Over the last year the company and the Levi Strauss Foundation together have invested more than $10 million in the communities where our employees live and work – from supporting the Red Cross after Hurricane Sandy to dozens of pioneering grassroots organizations around the globe.

Dress It Up

In London, New York and Tokyo, the Levi’s® brand recently introduced its 2013 Spring & Summer line to fashion editors from around the world.

The London press preview took place at the Farmiloe, a beautiful industrialized building in Central London. Artistic, curated vignettes brought each product story to life in a unique way and featured Levi's® Red Tab, Made & Crafted and Levi's® Vintage Clothing collections.

No matter what the New Year brings, it’s always nice to have something beautiful to anticipate.

Looking Back, Pt. 1

Since we survived the much-talked-about “end of the world” on December 21, it seems only right to look back at the year that was. After all, it could’ve been our final one, right? Today, some highlights from LS&Co. Unzipped during the first half of 2012.

In January, we called attention to new Dockers® front man Bear Grylls. His personal story of tragedy and triumph is inspiring, to say the least.

Happy Holidays

Given the news we see every day – from places like Syria and Newtown and beyond – it’s easy to lose sight of the happiness that’s supposed to accompany the holiday season.

Here’s a simple wish: I hope that you have an opportunity in the days ahead to reflect on all that’s right in the world and in your own life. And I hope it gives you reason to smile.

Peace.

Justice Can't Wait

Too often, in every corner of the globe, suspects are treated as convicts the minute they enter the criminal justice system. Whether detainees are tortured and coerced to “confess,” or find themselves unjustly excluded from legal representation — they are, in essence, “guilty until proven innocent.”

To help preserve human dignity in these settings, the Levi Strauss Foundation and International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) are supporting pioneering legal advocates from all over the world through the JusticeMakers annual competition.
