It's 1972. Again.

The Orange Tab first appeared on a line of Levi’s® products back in the 1960s and 70s.

Now, it’s back. Bell bottoms and all.

You’ll feel like hopping in your Levi’s® Edition AMC Gremlin and going back in time.

Levi’s® Vintage Clothing uses our famed archives and an obsession over every last detail to reproduce the fit, fabric and detail of bygone eras. In this case, a turbulent time of rebels and revolutionaries.

Good Things Take Time

This Regular Tee Shirt is anything but regular. But that's what you should expect from Levi's® Made & Crafted.

Most tee shirt graphics are printed. This one is knitted. The zigzag pattern is actually a jacquard -- a time-intensive technique that allows for wild but precise patterns, rich colors and a soft but rugged feel. The pattern is actually knitted into the fabrics so that it ages like your favorite pair of jeans. It takes eight times longer to make this "regular" tee, but it's worth it.

A Love That Never Fades

As the company historian I sometimes feel as though I inhabit an alternate universe. This is never more true than when I am in the midst of denim enthusiasts.

Actually, “enthusiasts” is too mild a word for a group of guys and gals who love jeans and denim and indigo. I just had the opportunity to spend an evening with a bunch of these folks, and as usual, I had a great time.

Different Kinds of “Denim Heads”

They’re both self-proclaimed “denim heads,” but Jewon and JC’s denim collections couldn’t be more different.

Jewon, above left, is a senior designer, and JC is a senior merchant – both with the Levi’s® brand. Each piece of their respective collections has a story, and, as you might expect, their collections have personal touches. In the pictures above, each showcases some denim customizations.

Make it Weirder

“Make it Weirder.”

That was some of the feedback Chad Hinson received from his boss, Len Peltier, as he was working on the new Levi’s® San Francisco store.

For Chad, “weirder” meant that the true authenticity of the brand and its hometown must shine through. And it wasn’t so much “weirder” as it was cooler, more authentic and truer to the Levi’s® brand than anyone could imagine.

That’s what the team – including Chad’s creative partner Sherman Adams and so many others – was charged with.

Music to Your Ears

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to head to San Francisco, this may be music to your ears.

The America’s Cup and the Dockers® brand are partnering to produce the Sounds of San Francisco – a series of free concerts at the America’s Cup Pavilion.

We’re talking San Francisco emerging artists here. And given the Dockers® brand’s heritage as a San Francisco brand, it makes sense for the Dockers® team to support these bands and bring them to the pavilion stage for all to enjoy.

And did I mention the concerts are free?

These are the acts that have been booked:

Why I Walk

There were probably as many different reasons to take part in Sunday’s San Francisco AIDS Walk as there were walkers – about 25,000.

For me, it’s something I’ve done off-and-on since 1999 and the reason is pretty simple. I care – and I want to do something to help solve the problem instead of not doing anything about it.

I have to admit that I’m proud of myself for raising money for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and it’s awesome to work for a company that matches the donations, making even more of an impact.

By Skateboarders, For Skateboarding

At the risk of offending skateboarders everywhere, may I suggest that this is not a sport known for stylish apparel. But that's probably part of its appeal, the "just be yourself" attitude.

Besides, if you're going to be falling and skidding and scraping and otherwise abusing your clothes -- not to mention your body -- why get dressed up?

But..I like the way my colleagues at the Levi's® brand put it:

501 Interpretations

Since its invention in 1873, the Levi’s® 501® jean has taken on a life of its own. And for many of you, the original blue jean has long been a wardrobe staple.

In celebration of the 501® jean’s 140th anniversary this year, the Levi’s® brand launched a campaign to commemorate how people all over the world are remixing a modern classic.

One Less Worry for the Two-Wheeled Commuter

There’s enough to think about when you’re commuting by bicycle. The last thing you want to do is worry about your clothes.

I speak from experience.

The driver that didn’t see me and ran me off the road with his van is proof. At least he stopped to make sure I was okay.

And never mind the near misses that occur just about every day I hop on my bike. That’s why I wear a helmet. You should, too. Just sayin’.
