Editors note: Nancy Brenner is a blogger and fashion writer. She attended today's Levi's® New York Fashion Week presentation and agreed to provide her take. Here it is, including a couple of her own cameraphone images.

My last look at Levi's® was in elementary school. And I still own the classic pair perloined from my father's Lower East Side men's clothing store, long before the neighborhood attracted European tourists paying top Euro to stay in trendy boutique hotels and shop BoHo chic.
Today's Levi's® Fall 2012 collection was unveiled down on Mercer Street. Bird Sounds. Banjo Strummin. Models in various stage of undress showcased a rainbow range of looks from urban camouflage (perfect to blend into the Williamsburg art scene), rustic, rural, hip-hop to blues that weren't boring. All that was missing was the Mason jars.
The show was a peek into the closet of every day life, with a male model hopping onto his bike, a woman strutting down the runway in a blues suit (suitable for a career), which was more like a real way of how the collection could fit into a modern life.
Who knew Levi's® did women's? Who knew they did brights? The international audience crowd was wowed by the classic American looks reinvented for every day life. A Horatio Alger story in the making for a company founded in 1853 by an immigrant with a pocket stitch design.

I use to have at least 6 pairs of 501 in different colors. They were all made in USA.. Any other origins just don't feel real somehow. A "made in USA" product line is timely with the socio-political context, and I am sure it will make money... The revenues will follow. this would be the biggest marketing coup and the most cost efficient with what will follow...Hollywood stars will embrace and the ball will be rolling with demand internationally at up 250 dollars US a piece. CFOs will be crazy not to approve as the potential is huge... let Levi's be Levi's again at least for those who are willing to pay for a made in USA rather than an Italian made 300 USD Diesel.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this recap of the Levi's runway show. It's amazing how something so classic and traditional like a pair of Levi's can become an urban ,fresh, modern wardrobe staple for the bohemian/ hipster set. I look forward to reading more articles from Ms. Brenner she truly has a way with words.
