We sell our products all over the world – including Texas. We even have a technology center in Westlake, not all that far from Arlington, home of one of the 2010 World Series teams, the Texas Rangers.
But we’re a San Francisco-based team, founded here 157 years ago. This is our hometown. So we hope you’ll forgive us for playing favorites when it comes to the other World Series team this year.
Go Giants!
Levi Strauss & Co. has given us an additional reason to root for the Giants and, in particular, their heavy hitters. The company is donating $1,000 to the Junior Giants for every homer hit by a Giant.
Even if you’re a Rangers fan, you have to love the idea behind the Junior Giants. It’s a free, non-competitive baseball program for boys and girls, ages 5 to 18. It gives so-called “at risk” youth a meaningful alternative to drugs, gangs and crime.
Some 16,000 kids across California and into Nevada and Oregon call themselves Junior Giants.
Shortstop Juan Uribe scored the first Giants homer in last night’s opening game of the World Series. So that’s at least $1,000 from Levi Strauss & Co. to the Junior Giants.
So, for a couple of reasons, we’re hoping there are plenty more homeruns to come – for the Giants and their young partners.
Go Giants!

This is just one of the many things I LOVE about LS&Co. We contribute to great causes and at the same time link them to the city's culture. Everything is "home-grown".
