Traveling Denim

One of the best things about a pair of jeans is how, the more you wear them, the more they become a part of you – adjusting, fitting and fading based on your body and what you do when you wear them.

Don’t believe it?

Just ask Japanese filmmaker Takayuki Akachi. He has made a film, “Traveling Denim,” that illustrates this denim personalization process – about how a young woman’s Levi’s® “evolved” over the course of a two-year, 50-country trip.

As the filmmaker notes, “the denim walks freely in the world, meets people, changes and fades.”

I love the video – and the music by Pepe California. The whole thing is now making the rounds on “the interwebs.” Even if you’ve seen it, it’s cool enough for a second viewing..

Since we didn’t have anything to do with the video, we can’t post it here, but here’s a link to it on his Vimeo.com page. Akachi is also known for his video, “Too Far West is East,” which you may also find via Vimeo.

Throw on your most faded Levi’s® jeans, put your feet up, and enjoy.
