They Said What?

If asked, what would your child say you do for a living?

We just held the first-ever “Kids Take Over” day at Levi Strauss & Co. headquarters in San Francisco.

More than 200 children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other young relatives and friends of employees descended on Levi’s® Plaza to see the offices and enjoy lots of fun activities.

Among the goings-on, a visit to the renowned archives, where our special visitors saw the oldest pair of blue jeans and a 2012 San Francisco Giants World Series Championship ring. They learned about the ship buried under the fountain in front of our building. They even used trash and recycled materials to design and create an outfit – and then showed off their fashionable work to a big crowd in a “Trashion Show.”

The day took a lot of planning and work, not to mention a number of parent and employee volunteers to make sure everyone had a good time.

While they were visiting, we thought we’d ask a few kids what their Levi Strauss & Co. grownup does here for a living. Some were more sure about their answers than others. Watch the video to see what we mean.

A wonderful day at Levi's for the parents and children. A truly memorable experience.

I was thrilled when I heard what a wonderful time my grandson and step-grandson had at the Kid Take Over Event. The pictures of their faces and the joy they expressed really made my day. Only a very special company would commit the considerable resources to familiarize the children of employees with their parents' workplace and provide the children insight into their parents' jobs. The kids had a great time and their creative juices were tapped for the Trashian Show. I'll keep on buying Levi's at every opportunity.
