Meet Phil Waldman. The folks at the Kinkora Pythian Home in Duncannon, Penn., where Phil hangs his hat, say he’s 90-years young and…”a proud, long-time customer of Levi Strauss & Co.
We like Phil!
He recently called our Consumer Relations team to talk about his love for Levi’s®. After a great conversation, we sent Phil a t-shirt. Soon, we received a picture of him modeling the shirt, along with a stylish red bandana, and holding a United States flag.

The flag is appropriate for our man in Duncannon. He was a private and a gunner in the National Guard 73 years ago. After Phil's military service, he found his calling in public safety, including as a fire marshal in Harrisburg, Penn. The photo of him in uniform is from when he retired, in 1981.

After we saw Phil wearing the t-shirt, we sent him some Levi’s® 501® jeans. I mean, we couldn’t ask for a better model!
The administrator of the home where Philip lives says he’s a perfect match for Levi Strauss & Co.’s core values: empathy, originality, integrity and courage. And she says he continues to rave about our products “still doing their job to this day.”
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1920, Phil will turn 91 in March. He says he discovered Levi's® jeans in 1937. He was married to wife Elizabeth for 49 years, and he has two daughters.
Asked what he's most proud of in his 90 years, he says, without hesitation, his daughters.
We’re honored that Phil is a long-time customer and fan. And we wish him many more years of good health, happiness and, of course, straight shooting.
Thanks for your loyalty, Phil. And given that gun you’re brandishing in the photo, we’ll do our best to stay on your good side!

I knew Mr. Waldman and his family when I was still in elementary and high school. They were such a nice family. He always had a great sense of humor and apparently, still does. My parents still live in the old neighborhood. They'd fill me in on the Turkey Trot (a Thanksgiving Day traditional race in Newport, where he lived) which he always ran in. Who knows, he may still be doing it. Hats off to you Mr. Waldman:)
