Poetic Levi

Levi Brenden is a lot of things – 15-year-old boy, high school senior, excellent student, fluent in English and Japanese, and judging from the picture, a soccer enthusiast. And – get this – he was named after Levi’s® jeans.

That's our kind of kid!

Levi is also a poet. And his dad, Daniel Brenden, was kind enough to share a poem Levi wrote, recently published in the Aloha (Oregon) High School publication, “The Voice, New Beginnings 2011.”

Daniel, proud father that he is, tells us that the editor liked Levi's poem enough to place it at the front of the book. Way to go, Levi!

And with that introduction, we give you Levi, the poem:

Levi
By Levi S. Brenden

Blue indigo
a good color
It’s there, but doesn’t stick out
never breaking up
never giving up

Holding on strong
rigid, yet soft
may need support
provides warmth
like a pair of jeans
little pockets with
hope.
