A new offering from the Levi’s® brand this season is called the Artisan Blanket Collection.
To create the collection, designers turned to handcrafted, quilted Indian blankets. The blanket fabrics and colorful yarns were hand dyed and embroidered using local graphics and repurposed into beautiful garments, pieced together with twills and chambrays, then over-dyed in raw indigo.
Each style is made from vintage blankets and infused with handcrafted elegance, resulting in unique items you’ll treasure.
It’s a small collection that includes a woven shirt, cropped boyfriend skinny pants, a shift dress and an elongated, reversible Trucker vest.
Here’s how Levi’s® Women’s Design Director Lisa Virtue sums it up:
This beautiful Artisan Blanket Collection has been inspired by the heritage and craftsmanship of the Levi’s® brand by innovatively crafting the future with the thread of the past, seeing something familiar in a new way and ultimately obsessing the details to curate an exclusive capsulecollection where no once piece is the same.
Levi Strauss & Co. introduced the very first pair of jeans for women in 1934. This collection is another example of designing products from a female point of view.
I'm a bit biased, but I like what I see. Have a look…
