Most Importantly: Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue; for Francois Malan of South Africa, only Levi’s® blues would do.

Francois wrote a letter to our Consumer Relations team with an urgent request. He was getting married soon – on a beach in Cape Town – and he wanted the most important moment of his life to be in Levi’s® and loafers!

His bride-to-be had chosen a spectacular Monique Lhuillier dress for the big day.  And Francois wanted to feel equally confident and fashion-forward in a classic pair of his favorite jeans paired with a crisp white shirt. And, yes, loafers.

But there was a problem. The jeans that Francois envisioned wearing were not available in his South Africa.

Levi Strauss & Co. Consumer Relations to the rescue!

My colleague Rosie Cayetano took public transit to the Levi’s® store on San Francisco’s Castro Street where she found the coveted 507’s™ in the perfect hue. With only a week until the big day, the jeans were sent to arrive just in time for the beach wedding.

The day was beautiful. Francois was grateful to Levi’s® for being a part of it.

My consumer relations colleagues and I handle more than 250,000 consumer inquiries every year. Helping make Francois' wedding a little more special is one of the reasons I love what we do. Enjoy the wedding pics below...

Wow, its just incredible that people can get this right! I cannot even find the original levi 501 in 14 oz denim on the belgium website. Type in "Vintage clothing" No go. How about "rigid" the story about sitting in the bathtub with a pair of rigid levi's comes up but the product? No sir Maybe you can help me: I have the 1947 501, the 1954 501Z and the 1966 501. All under the Levi's Vintage clothing product range; all shrink to fit. I am now looking for the next one which is the 1978 501 with the little ''e'' Much appreciated Onno van der Meer

Editor's note: Hi Onno. Thanks for the comment! A colleague in Consumer Relations is investigating and will either contact you directly or provide me the information, which I'll post in a follow-up note. Please stay tuned for additional information.
