Lee's Levi's®

American Idol’s latest winner, Lee DeWyze, is expected to hit Billboard’s Hot 100 chart today. No matter where his cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day” lands, we can guess what he’ll be wearing when he hears the news: Levi’s® jeans.

Throughout his journey to becoming the ninth winner of what is arguably U.S. television’s biggest talent competition, Lee has been seen wearing Levi’s® jeans on nearly every episode, including the two-part season finale during which he was crowned king.

We can tell you that his favorite fits are the 514 Slim Straight, particularly in Tumbled Black, and, of course, the Original 501.

How do we know? My Los Angeles colleague Sheri Timmons tells me that Levi’s® had the pleasure of dressing Lee during the entire season. And American Idol’s head stylist Miles Siggins frequently mentioned Lee’s Levi’s® wardrobe on the fashion blog at AmericanIdol.com.

In a post on celebrity blog JustJared, Miles said, “Lee lives in his Levi’s!”

One post on the American Idol fashion blog was actually called “Lee’s Levi’s.”

“Lee’s Levi’s.” There’s something oddly wonderful about that phrase. Not sure the folks at another denim company would agree, though.
