Curtis Romeo is a stylist at the Levi’s® Outlet I manage in St. Augustine, Florida. Earlier this week, he left the store to get a bite to eat and head to the martial arts class he teaches – on his motorcycle.
You see where this is heading, right?
On his way to class, another vehicle stopped short in front of him, and that led to Curtis flipping over his bike and sliding across the road. His motorcycle landed on top of him.
Fortunately, he walked away with “only” a broken arm and some bruises. He credits for Levi’s® jeans for minimizing his injuries.
“If it wasn’t for my Levi’s®, it could have been a lot worse, they truly are strong enough to withstand anything.”
Well, maybe not anything, but we’re certainly happy that Curtis withstood his motorcycle accident without worse injuries.

One other note. This week is Go Water<Less™ week at Levi Strauss & Co., and employees around the world are saving water by wearing their pants five days straight without washing them. They've attached to their jeans small sponges – which increase in size when wet – to tell us who’s being true to the cause.
The picture up top is of Curtis on Day 2, clearly before his accident. And yes, those are the jeans, post-accident. As a result of the wreck, Curtis says his Levi’s® are covered in fuel, dirt and grime, but he’s keeping them out of the washing machine.
“I don’t want to wash them until the five days are up!”
I didn’t ask if he’s actually still wearing them, but I will ask him to wash them before he wears the jeans to work again.
