When Labor Day first became a legal holiday here in the U.S., it’s safe to say a lot of folks were laboring in Levi’s® jeans.
After all, that was back in 1894, 21 years after the original blue jean was invented by our founder, Levi Strauss, and his business partner, Jacob Davis.
It’s amazing to think how labor has evolved over the years. Our country is more urban now, less rural. But whether you’re a Texas cotton farmer like my uncle Vernon, or an urban commuter like so many of my work colleagues, Levi’s® jeans are still standard attire.
The Levi’s® team knows this. It’s why they still make the original 501® jean. And it’s why they invented the Commuter, designed for – and by – cyclists.
To mark these latter-day laborers, the brand profiled a few on video. Check out New York’s Knox Robinson, the team from Denver’s A Small Print Shop, and Portland chef Chris Diminno below, as they "Go To Work."
And if these cycling laborers entice you to check out the Commuter line this Labor Day weekend, you’ll find them at select local bike shops and here.
