And Now For Something Completely Different

The first pop-up mall is up and running in London. A pop-up mall. Now, that's different.

And Levi Strauss & Co. is there -- times two! Both Dockers® and Levi’s® have stores – shipping containers, actually -- at what’s known as Boxpark Shoreditch.

Shoreditch is, among other things, an area of London and is served by the Shoreditch High Street Station on the London Overground. Developers would like to build a shopping mall at the station.

In the meantime, they’ve cobbled together a number of shipping containers – 60, in all – painted them black and arranged them into a small village of retail outlets and dining establishments.

If you live in London or have traveled there over the past two months, this is probably old news. For those who haven’t heard, we couldn’t let it slip by without calling your attention to it.

As you can see from the pictures, the Dockers® and Levi’s® containers are next to each other – and Boxpark seems to be a good fit for both.

As Dockers® VP Thomas Schmidt put it, London is the centre of Europe for style and design and Boxpark takes retail to a whole new level.

Clearly, Boxpark may be worth a stop on your next trip to London.
