The Amazingly Creative Sagmeister

One of the best parts of my work is interacting with amazingly creative people – at Levi’s® and beyond.

In the “beyond” category, Stefan Sagmeister is up at the top. The Austrian-born artist is one of the most original graphic designers of his generation. And over the past several years, we’ve been lucky enough to work with Stefan on several projects.

Among them is an homage to workers through installations and billboard art during our “We Are Workers” marketing campaign.

This billboard was originally on display in New York’s Soho district and now hangs proudly at Stefan’s new exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

That exhibit is titled, “Another exhibit about promotion and sales material.” It focuses exclusively on Stefan’s commercial work over the last seven years. By choosing to exhibit only commissioned works, he aims to show that they are no different than his others.

It’s a privilege that the work we commissioned will be part of what Stefan exhibits in Paris, making it enjoyable to an even larger audience.

Stefan’s work will be on view until Feb. 19. If you’re fortunate enough to live in Paris – or you’ll be passing through – check it out. I think you’ll be both impressed and amazed with his work. Just like I am.

In the meantime, Stefan, himself, describes the exhibition the video below. Enjoy!

The marketing folks including Stefan Sagmeister at Levi's are genius. I can't think of a better brand or something bigger.
