Since its invention in 1873, the Levi’s® 501® jean has taken on a life of its own. And for many of you, the original blue jean has long been a wardrobe staple.
In celebration of the 501® jean’s 140th anniversary this year, the Levi’s® brand launched a campaign to commemorate how people all over the world are remixing a modern classic.
Fans submitted thousands of photos at Levis501.com. And a selection of your unique interpretations is now featured in a limited edition book, Levi’s® 501® Interpretations. The images are all of influencers – some, ordinary folk; others, the more famous kind. Think True Blood’s Joe Manganiello, singer Miguel and actress Anna Kendrick. The ones you see here are by photographer Francesco Carrozzini.
A limited number of Levi’s® 501® Interpretations will be sold globally at select Levi’s® stores as well as online at Levi.com beginning in August for $55. Proceeds from the sale of the book will be awarded to students at the California College of Art in San Francisco who demonstrate leadership in the three design pillars of the Levi’s® brand: craftsmanship, innovation and sustainability.
The 501® may have been invented in the 19th century, and named by Time as the “Fashion Item of the 20th Century,” but the images in this book illustrate that the original blue jean is as relevant and fashionable as ever.

Hello.I´m a fan of your brand.I live in San Sebastián,Spain. Is true that you sell "501 Interpretations" book in Levi.com?Because I can´t buy it nowhere.I think that is a pity that are only 501 copies of this book.Levi's 501 jeans are the most popular pants of the history and they deserve to have a book with normal distribution. Why don´t you make more copies and sell them by Amazon?Think in this, please.Thank you. I have "This is a pair of Levi's" by Lynn Downey. I´m very interested in books. Best wishes.
Editor's note: Hi Imanol and thank you for your comment. I will pass along your thoughts to the Levi's® brand team behind the book. It may be too late for this particular project, but perhaps they can expand the printing for future ones. Thank you again!
