Our Neighborhood

Levi’s® made the first pair of blue jeans back in 1873 right here in the City by the Bay. Dockers® started here, too, more than 25 years ago. Our global headquarters is located at Levi's Plaza -- in a vibrant, historic and interesting part of San Francisco. Come see why we like it here!

Need a big, beautiful dose of San Francisco? Check out this video from San Francisco Travel.

Our Levi Strauss & Co. global headquarters is located at 1155 Battery Street in Levi’s Plaza. Our history-and-delectable-filled neighborhood surrounds us – from Telegraph Hill on the West, to the San Francisco Bay on the East, and from Broadway Street on the South to Fisherman’s Wharf on the North. Whether you’re driving, walking or riding, we’re easy to find.

A Walking Tour of Our Neighborhood

Whether it’s history you crave, delicious food, or the best in denim and khakis, we’ve got you covered right here in San Francisco’s Northeast Waterfront District. Spend some time in our neighborhood and you’ll easily understand why Levi Strauss, the man, chose to call this amazing place home. And while you’re here, keep an eye out for the famous parrots of Telegraph Hill! (Click on the map below for a detailed, online map.)

1. Coit Tower
Completed in 1933, the landmark tower provides amazing views. Use the Filbert Steps and Greenwich Stairs to make the trek to and from the tower.

2. Pier 23 Cafe
Whether you’re thirsty for a cold beer on a sunny day or craving a warm burger on a foggy one, put this casual and fun waterside restaurant on your list.

3. Historic Streetcars
San Francisco’s streetcars run a six-mile route from the Castro District to Fisherman’s Wharf. For Levi’s® Plaza, take the F Market line and hop off at Greenwich St. stop.

4. TCHO Chocolate
What better way to treat yourself or friends back home than with obsessively good, and locally-made chocolate? You can even tour the factory at Pier 17!

5, Sunken Ship and Historic Buildings
Under the Levi’s® Plaza fountain is a sunken ship, one of many buried close by; you’ll also find Gold Rush era warehouses — like the one at 915 Front Street.

6. The Exploratorium
The future is also here. Across The Embarcadero from Levi’s® Plaza, watch the new Exploratorium taking shape at Pier 15. Also on the way, the 34th America’s Cup!

While You're In The Neighborhood...

We invite you to stop by our global headquarters building during your visit. Not only will you find The Vault, the public side of our archives, you'll also be able to shop our latest styles.

Whether you’re looking for Levi’s® jeans or Dockers® khakis, you’ll find them in our Levi’s® Plaza Store. We have the latest premium products, washes and colors — and friendly, knowledgeable stylists on hand to help you complete a striking new look. The store is open seven days a week.

Our Archives

Our company’s 150-year history is captured in the Levi Strauss & Co. Archives, a genuine treasure trove containing thousands of garments, posters, photographs and more.

Designers from around the world visit the Archives for ideas and inspiration. A 130-year-old pair of Levi's® jeans may spark an innovative finish on a pair of cutting-edge jeans.

Many one-of-a-kind items and historical information from the Archives are available for public viewing in The Vault, located in our headquarters lobby.
