1968 Walter A. Haas, Jr. is appointed to President Johnson's National Alliance of Businessmen.
1984 LS&CO. receives the Lawrence A. Wien Prize in Corporate Social Responsibility.
1985

The Haas family receives the Alexis De Tocqueville Award from the United Way in recognition for outstanding achievement in voluntarism.

LS&CO. wins the Governor's Committee Media/Advertising Award from the New York State Office of Advocates for the Disabled, for our positive portrayals of disabled people in the "501 Blues" television ads.

1989 LS&CO. receives Harvard University's Dively Award for Corporate Public Initiative.
1993

LS&CO. receives the Maud and Ballington Booth Award from Volunteers of America for Distinguished Service to Humanity

Advertising Age magazine declares Levi’s® "Women Breaking the Mold" ad “one of the most important commercials launched in the past 50 years.” According to the magazine, the ad broke new ground in American advertising by dismantling stereotypes about women.

Business Ethics magazine names LS&CO. as one of three companies to win its “Excellence in Ethics” award.

1994

The Council on Economic Priorities selects LS&CO. to receive the “America’s Corporate Conscience Award for International Commitment.”

Employees at the Customer Service Center in Canton, Miss., are honored by the White House and Congress for their volunteer work in support of children and families in the Jackson and Canton communities.

The Philippines Department of Labor and Employment gives LS&CO. “Most Outstanding Family Welfare Programs” award, in the category of companies with 500-1,000 employees.

1995 The Haas family receives a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Business Enterprise Trust for providing “steadfast social leadership while successfully adapting to the rigors of global competition.”
1996 The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change presents LS&CO. with the 1996 Management Social Responsibility Award. The Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE) (which represents several LS&CO. owned and operated manufacturing facilities) made the award nomination in recognition of the unique partnership formed between LS&CO. and UNITE.
1997

LS&CO. receives the Organizational Award for a Large Business from the Centers for Disease Control.

LS&CO. receives the Quality of Life Award from Auburn University.

1998 Levi Strauss & Co. receives the first Ron Brown Award for Corporate Leadership. CEO Bob Haas accepts the award for the company at a White House ceremony conducted by President Clinton. LS&CO. is honored with this award for Project Change.
2000

The Council on Economic Priorities ranks LS&CO. number one out of 320 companies in a corporate social responsibility survey. LS&CO. receives an "A" rating in the categories of charitable giving, disclosure, family benefits, minority advancement, women's advancement and workplace issues.

LS&CO. receives the Hungarian “Salus Puplica” Award in recognition of the the company’s work in HIV/AIDS prevention in Hungary.

2001

Levi Strauss Foundation awarded the first Legacy Award of the Business Women’s Network Education Foundation for Project Change.

LS&CO. received the corporate award from San Francisco Beautiful in recognition of the inaugural Community Day in 2000.

2002 LS&CO. and the Levi Strauss foundation receive the YouthAIDS Corporate Citizenship Award on behalf of the company and LSF for 20 years of leadership and support of HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs
2004

Chairman, Bob Haas receives the Points of Light Foundation’s George Bush Corporate Leadership Award for his strong commitment to volunteerism, both through personal example and by sponsoring employee programs

The Levi Strauss Foundation receives the “Gloria” Corporate Philanthropy Award from the Ms. Foundation

2005

World Affairs Council of Northern California presents LS&CO with the 2005 award for Corporate Citizenship in a Global Economy

Fourth world Congress on Family Law and Children’s rights presents award to LS&CO. for the company’s efforts to combat the use of child labor through the Terms of Engagement

2006

The American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) honors LS&CO. with the 2006 Excellence in Social Responsibility Award in the "Creative Programs for the Workplace" category. The award recognizes companies for their best practices in a variety of areas of corporate citizenship that positively impact employees, business and communities. LS&CO. is recognized for its partnership with the Asia Foundation to improve the lives of migrant women workers in China’s Guangdong province.

2007

San Francisco AIDS Foundation recognizes LS&CO. with its prestigious Leadership Award for more than 25 years of corporate commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
